Abstract
This conceptual paper examines the life, work, and legacy of Luigj Gurakuqi as one of the most influential figures of the Albanian National Renaissance and the early years of independence. It explores his contributions as a patriot, politician, educator, poet, publicist, literary critic, and linguist, highlighting his role in shaping Albanian national identity and culture. The paper argues that Gurakuqi's multidisciplinary achievements and commitment to education, language, and freedom secured his lasting place in Albanian history.
Methods
The study adopts a qualitative, historical, and literary approach based on the analysis of Gurakuqi's published works, speeches, poetry, journalism, and historical documents. It also draws upon secondary literature and scholarly interpretations to examine his political, educational, and literary contributions. This approach provides a comprehensive overview of his intellectual and patriotic legacy.
Results
