Self-Archiving Policy

The UniVlora Scientific Journal (UVSJ) supports the principles of Green Open Access and encourages authors to maximize the visibility, accessibility, and impact of their research through responsible self-archiving.

Authors may deposit and share their manuscripts in accordance with this policy, provided that the original publication in the UniVlora Scientific Journal is properly acknowledged.

1. Versions Permitted for Self-Archiving

The journal permits authors to archive the following versions of their manuscripts:

1.1 Submitted Manuscript (Preprint)

Authors may deposit the Submitted Manuscript (Preprint) at any time before or during the peer-review process in:

  • personal websites;
  • institutional repositories;
  • disciplinary or subject repositories; and
  • recognized preprint servers.

Authors are encouraged to update the record with a citation and DOI (where available) once the article has been published.

1.2 Accepted Manuscript (Author Accepted Manuscript)

Authors may immediately archive the Accepted Manuscript (AAM) following acceptance for publication, without embargo, in:

  • institutional repositories;
  • subject repositories;
  • funding agency repositories; and
  • personal or departmental websites.

Where possible, authors should include a citation to the final published article and its DOI.

1.3 Version of Record

Authors may immediately archive and share the Version of Record (the final published version of the article) without embargo in:

  • institutional repositories;
  • disciplinary repositories;
  • funder repositories;
  • personal or departmental websites; and
  • academic social networking platforms, where permitted by their terms of service.

Authors are encouraged to use the publisher's PDF and to include the complete bibliographic citation together with the article's DOI.

2. Attribution Requirements

When self-archiving any version of an article, authors should include:

  • the full bibliographic citation of the published article;
  • the Digital Object Identifier (DOI), where available;
  • a statement acknowledging that the article was originally published in the UniVlora Scientific Journal;
  • a link to the published version on the journal's website whenever possible.
3. Embargo Period
  • The UniVlora Scientific Journal does not impose an embargo period on the self-archiving of any version of an article.
  • Authors may archive and share permitted versions immediately upon submission, acceptance, or publication, as applicable.
4. License
  • The published Version of Record is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
  • Reuse of the published version is governed by the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license.
5. Compliance with Funder and Institutional Policies
  • The journal supports authors in complying with the open access requirements of research funders, institutions, and national or international research organizations.
  • Authors are encouraged to deposit their published work in repositories required by their funding bodies or institutions, provided that the original publication in the UniVlora Scientific Journal is appropriately acknowledged.
6. Commitment to Open Scholarship

The UniVlora Scientific Journal promotes the widest possible dissemination of scholarly research through immediate open access and unrestricted self-archiving. This policy is consistent with the principles of Green Open Access and aligns with the recommendations of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Crossref, and internationally recognized best practices in scholarly publishing.
